This Privacy Policy describes how CET TECH LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use Tably Comparison Tables (the “App”), a Shopify application that allows merchants to create and display comparison tables on their online stores.

By installing or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you install and use the App, we collect the following information:

  • Account Information: Your Shopify store domain, store owner name, email address, and other basic account details provided through the Shopify API.
  • Comparison Table Data: Content you create within the App, including table names, column configurations, row data, product selections, custom text, links, color preferences, and design choices.
  • Product Information: Product titles, images, prices, and handles that you select from your Shopify catalog to include in comparison tables.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

We automatically collect certain information when you use the App:

  • Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the App, including which features you use, table views, and time spent in the application.
  • Technical Data: Your IP address, browser type, device information, operating system, and access times.
  • Session Data: Authentication tokens and session identifiers necessary to maintain your logged-in state.
  • Analytics Data: Aggregated statistics about table performance, including view counts and engagement metrics.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Shopify Platform: We receive information from Shopify’s API, including store details, product catalog data, theme information, and authentication credentials necessary to operate the App within your store.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

3.1 To Provide and Maintain the App

  • Create, display, and manage comparison tables on your storefront
  • Store your table configurations and preferences
  • Authenticate your access to the App
  • Process your product selections and display them in tables
  • Deliver app blocks to your theme editor

3.2 To Improve and Optimize the App

  • Analyze usage patterns to improve functionality
  • Monitor and analyze trends and performance
  • Develop new features and templates
  • Fix bugs and technical issues
  • Conduct testing and quality assurance

3.3 To Communicate With You

  • Send important updates about the App
  • Respond to your support requests and inquiries
  • Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting

  • Send optional promotional communications (with your consent)

3.4 To Ensure Security and Prevent Fraud

The App operates within the Shopify platform and shares data with Shopify as necessary to provide App functionality. This includes authentication data, store information, and API requests. Shopify’s use of your information is governed by Shopify’s Privacy Policy.

4.2 With Service Providers

We may share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App, including:

  • Cloud hosting providers (for data storage and processing)
  • Analytics services (for usage analytics and performance monitoring)

These service providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the App and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Specifically:

  • Active Accounts: We retain your data while your store has the App installed and for a reasonable period after uninstallation to facilitate reinstallation.
  • Comparison Tables: Table data is retained as long as the tables exist in your account or until you delete them.
  • Session Data: Authentication sessions are retained according to Shopify’s requirements, typically expiring after a period of inactivity.
  • Usage Analytics: Aggregated and anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely for statistical purposes.

After you uninstall the App, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory, or security purposes.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit using SSL/TLS protocols
  • Encryption of sensitive data at rest
  • Secure authentication and session management
  • Regular security assessments and updates
  • Access controls and authentication requirements for our personnel
  • Monitoring for security threats and vulnerabilities

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You have certain rights regarding your personal information, depending on your location:

7.1 Access and Portability

You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. You can export your comparison table data directly from the App at any time.

7.2 Correction and Update

7.3 Deletion

You can delete your comparison tables at any time within the App. If you uninstall the App, your data will be deleted in accordance with our retention policy. You may also request deletion of your data by contacting us.

7.4 Opt-Out of Communications

You can opt out of promotional emails by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing email or by contacting us. Please note that you cannot opt out of essential service-related communications.

7.5 Object to Processing

You have the right to object to certain types of processing of your personal information, including processing for direct marketing purposes.

7.6 Withdraw Consent

Where we rely on your consent to process your information, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time.

8. International Data Transfers

Specifically, the App integrates with:

  • Shopify: Governed by Shopify’s Privacy Policy
  • Your storefront: Comparison tables displayed on your storefront are subject to your store’s privacy policy

13. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@cettechventure.com, and we will delete such information from our systems.

14. Data Controller and Processor Roles

For the purposes of data protection laws:

  • You (the merchant) are the data controller for any customer data that appears in your comparison tables or is collected through your storefront.
  • We (CET TECH LLC) are the data controller for App usage data, account information, and administrative data. We are a data processor for content you create within the App.
  • Shopify acts as a data processor for data transmitted through its platform.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the App complies with applicable data protection laws, including obtaining necessary consents from your customers.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make changes, we will:

  • Update the “Effective Date” at the top of this policy
  • Notify you through the App or via email for material changes
  • Provide you an opportunity to review the updated policy

Your continued use of the App after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
